How it works. Every ByteBack live wallpaper is a real photo turned into layers of depth, light and motion. The app renders those layers live on your phone's graphics chip instead of playing a video, so it stays sharp, reacts to you and loops without a seam.
What the app does
- Home and lock screen. Set any wallpaper from your library as the live wallpaper for both, or keep a still frame on the lock screen if you prefer.
- Reacts to you. Tilt parallax from the motion sensor, soft touch ripples, and a grade that follows the time of day.
- Widget. A home-screen and lock-screen widget shows what's playing and switches to the next wallpaper with one tap.
- Easy on the battery. Rendering and sensors stop the moment the wallpaper is hidden. Battery saver and a warm phone halve the frame rate automatically. 30 or 60 fps and render quality are yours to set.
- Your packs, offline. Free packs come with the app. A wallpaper you bought here is imported from its .bbwp file, unlocked once with the license key from your order, then works with no internet at all.
- Private. No ads, no analytics, no accounts. The app's only network request is that one-time license check. Read the privacy policy.
What a live wallpaper purchase includes
Every live wallpaper sold on this site is one purchase that works on your desktop, your Android phone and your iPhone. The download bundle contains:
- 4K desktop loop (.mp4): a seamless widescreen loop for Windows or Mac wallpaper apps.
- 4K phone loop (.mp4): the same scene as a vertical video for any phone.
- iPhone Live Photo: a photo plus matching video that moves on the iPhone lock screen.
- Android pack (.bbwp): the interactive version for ByteBack Live, with depth, light and motion rendered live.
- License and README: the wallpaper license and a step-by-step guide.
Your license key is in the order email from Lemon Squeezy. You only need it for the Android pack.
Install on Android
- Install ByteBack Live from Google Play.
- Get the .bbwp file onto your phone (download it there, or copy it over USB or a cloud drive).
- Open ByteBack Live, tap Import a pack you own and pick the file.
- Enter your license key when asked. This needs internet once; after that the wallpaper works offline.
- Open the wallpaper in the library, tap Set as wallpaper, and choose Home and lock screens when Android asks.
Optional: add the ByteBack Live widget to your home screen, and turn up tilt parallax in Settings for more depth as you move the phone. If the wallpaper resets after a reboot, set ByteBack Live to Unrestricted under Settings → Apps → ByteBack Live → Battery.
Install on iPhone
- Save the Live Photo's picture and video to Photos together (AirDrop both at once, or save both from the Files app in one step). Photos shows a LIVE badge when it worked.
- Settings → Wallpaper → Add New Wallpaper → Photos, pick the Live Photo, make sure the Live Photo button is on, then Add.
- Press and hold the lock screen to see it move. Live Photo motion needs iOS 17 or later and Low Power Mode off.
- Prefer video? The 4K phone loop works with any video-wallpaper app or Shortcut you already use.
Install on Windows and Mac
- Wallpaper Engine (Windows): Open Wallpaper → Open from File → choose the 4K desktop .mp4.
- Lively Wallpaper (Windows, free): the + button → choose the .mp4.
- Mac: any live or video wallpaper app you already have, or loop the .mp4 full screen in QuickTime or VLC.
Please keep the files to your own devices. The license is personal and covers up to five devices you own; it doesn't allow sharing, reselling, or uploading to the Wallpaper Engine Workshop or any other site.

Something not working? Send your order number and what you tried through the message form. If a file won't download, import or play on a supported device, it gets fixed or a working copy sent.
